As part of the Asia-Pacific Science, Technology & Society Network – Biennial Conference 2013, Ingmar Lippert organised a panel that presents studies of the socio-technical networks in which numbers are created, done or undone. The panel After numbers? Doing and undoing qualculative practices compares studies across three different fields: environmental studies, eduction policy and biomedical research.

The conference "Design and displacement – social studies of science and technology" has been organised by the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST) jointly with the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S) and takes place October 17-20, 2012, Copenhagen Business School, Frederiksberg, Denmark.

As part of the annual conference of the Association of Social Anthropologists of the UK and Commonwealth (ASA), this panel discusses the relations between humans and water, and how the precious vitality of water is constituted, negotiated and strategically used.

The general conference theme is "Vital powers and politics: human interactions with living things" and therefore very relevant for critical approaches to environmental management.

At the 10th Annual IAS-STS Conference Critical Issues in Science and Technology Studies (May 2-3, 2011 at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society - Graz, Austria) we have brought together several researchers to discuss the study of situated practices of managing environments: For that we have designed a session in which Ingmar Lippert, Silvia Bruzzone, Franz Krause, Anna Schreuer and Gerald Aiken contributed analytically and empirically to the topic.

At Panel 38 “Environmental Market Space(s): Discourse, Power, and Legitimacy” of the Interpretive Policy Analysis (IPA) conference, two members of our group will present papers in the session "Environmental markets as socio-technical arrangements".

Several members of our group have been invited to present papers at the EASST conference 2010.

While Anup Sam Ninan will present results of his research on the production of carbon credits, Ingmar Lippert prepared a paper on the construction of carbon emissions. See 1 2.

A member of our group, Ingmar Lippert, will be presenting the latest developments of how he puts actor-network theory (ANT) into practice as part of his analysis.

The XVII. World Congress of Sociology, taking place in Sweden, July 2010, provides a platform for the international community of environmental sociologists as well.
